About me
Sandy has more than 50 years in education. She has experience as a classroom teacher and works as an assistant professor in the Faculty of Education at Brandon University. Sandy's specialty is in math methods but has an additional expertise in nature-based learning, specifically with education in environmental education and science education. Her hobbies and interests lie in the following: canoeing, walking, cycling, cross-country skiing, travelling, bird watching, gardening, hummingbird banding, Wheat Kings’ hockey, cat watching, and digital photography. She is extremely popular with her warm sense of humor and likeable personality among her students. She believes in building relationships with students and has a huge heart for all learners. She believes in hands-on learning approaches and co-teaches the nature-based learning course with her colleague at Brandon University. Sandy brings a wealth of information and experience to every learning space that she enters.
