About me
"Marla has spent her five decades gathering wisdom from both the land and the classroom. As a Métis educator, she looks to her ancestors when offering nourishment for the contemporary needs of today's educators and learners. Alongside her husband on their Manitoba ranch, the animal relatives have been her most profound teachers, offering lessons that weave into her work as a school counselor and community educator. Her work emphasizes the healing power of land-based learning and the importance of understanding ourselves as part of the natural world.
Drawing from 15 years of supporting students through emotional storms in school settings and complemented by many years of guiding parents and educators in her private practice, Marla brings a unique, insightful wisdom to her workshops. Her approach is deeply rooted in the land itself - where every fence post, grazing cow, and morning frost carries teachings about resilience, patience, and the delicate dance of supporting young spirits"
