"Louise Zimanyi is of French-Canadian and Hungarian descent and lives as a guest in Tkaronto/Toronto, Treaty 13 territory, also part of the Dish with One Spoon territory.
As an Early Childhood Education professor/researcher at Humber Polytechnic teaching ""Land-based Play and Co-Learning through Etuaptmumk ((eh-doo-ahp-duh-mumk))/Two-Eyed Seeing"", she is co-learning on, from and with the Land and wise teachers, co-transforming early childhood pedagogy and practice. Louise is the co-author of a children’s picture book, 'Walking Together '(Annick Press, 2023) with Mi’kmaw Elder Albert Marshall, illustrated by Emily Kewageshig from Saugeen First Nation. The story introduces readers to the concept of Etuaptmumk/Two-Eyed Seeing, following a group of young children connecting to nature as teacher, nurturing respectful, reciprocal and responsible relationships."
