About me
Laura Prosper is a proud mother of five adult children and grandmother to six. She is guided by a deep love for family, community, and the natural environment. Laura is committed to the safeguarding, honoring, and renewal of Mi’kmaw Traditional Knowledge, with a strong focus on Mi’kmaw language revitalization and land-based learning.
For the past year, she has been proudly employed with Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey as the Language Camp and Professional Development Organizer—a role that aligns closely with her passion, deep respect for ancestral teachings, and dedication to intergenerational knowledge sharing.
Laura continues to inspire others through her efforts to strengthen Mi'kmaq cultural identity, Mi'kmaq language revitalization, to nurture community connections, and to foster a deeper relationship with the land.
