About me
Jennifer is a K-12 educator who has worked in the Upper Grand District School Board for the past 14 years. Prior to this, Jennifer taught Outdoor Education at Bark Lake Leadership Centre in Ontario, where she delivered a traditional Outdoor Education program, including leadership initiatives, ecological education, archery, high ropes and canoe tripping. Since 2021, Jennifer has actively worked to decolonize her teaching practice and to teach in ways that are anti-oppressive. In March of 2023, Jennifer took on the role of Land-Based and Indigenous Education teacher at Akinomaagayegaamikoong (“place of learning”), the former Outdoor Education Centre for UGDSB. In this role, Jennifer is co-creating and delivering programming that supports students to move beyond traditional Outdoor Education approaches.
