About me
"Jenna Forslund, based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is a dedicated educator with 14 years of public school experience, currently teaching high school science. She holds a Master’s in Education for Sustainable Development from the University of Manitoba and serves as a sessional instructor at the University of Winnipeg, mentoring preservice educators in innovative science teaching strategies.
Jenna integrates the 17 SDGs into her curriculum, emphasizing sustainability, community connections, and hands-on, inquiry-based learning. Her teaching also incorporates Truth and Reconciliation education, fostering respect for Indigenous knowledge and seven-generation thinking.
An advocate for STEM and equity, her efforts have earned her the Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence in STEM, the National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship, and the Susan Langley Earth Steward Teaching Award."
