About me
Janet Dyment currently works as a faculty member in the Department of Community Development at Acadia University, in Nova Scotia. She’s also worked at the University of Tasmania, Lakehead University, and the University of Boston. Prior to her academic appointments, she worked for a long time at the Canadian Outward Bound Wilderness School, the National Outdoor Leadership School and lots of camps around Ontario. Her teaching and research focus on outdoor learning across the classroom and she is currently the lead of the Masters of Curriculum, Outdoor Learning Across the Curriculum at Acadia University. Outside of her work, she loves to spend time with her teenage boys (14 and 17 years old) and partner, exploring the everyday nearby places that make up her home and when time allows, heading out for more remote journeys in her canoe, sea kayak, or cross country skis!
