About me
Billie Jo, began her career in Outdoor Education at the age of 16, becoming a canoe instructor. Since then, she has completed several canoe instructor levels and worked as a wilderness canoe tripping guide and instructor for over 25 years. She is a graduate of the Parks and Forest Recreation and Adventure Tourism Management Programs at Sir Sandford Fleming College. Over a decade ago she was fortunate to begin working for many Outdoor Education Centres furthering her learning of environment education. During COVID she was introduced to Nature Journaling, and this has become a huge part of her life, both professionally and personally. Nature Journaling has taken her on Safari to Tanzania as a Co-Lead with John Muir Laws in 2023 & 2024, as well as facilitating workshops and working with the Wild Wonder Foundation. She completed her Nature Journaling Educator Certificate in the Fall of 2024. Billie Jo is also the National Coordinator for Program and Delivery with Project WET Canada. She first became a facilitator in 2016 and took on this new role in March 2024. Billie Jo loves to teach students and adults and looks for any opportunity to connect them with Nature.
