About me
"Ann Cummings Biography
Boozhoo! Ann Cummings n’disnikaas, Wewebjewong (Little Current, Ont) n’doongeba. Originally from T’Karonto (Toronto) I am incredibly grateful to now call Mnidoo Mnising (Manitoulin Island) my home. With a unique career path, I bring my multiple years of experience as an outdoor and environmental educator, an unstructured play mentor, a performing artist, singer, percussionist and teacher to my role of Indigenous Early Years Instructor at Mnidoo Mnising Sharing and Learning Centre for All (under the auspice of secondary educational institute Kenjgewin Teg). I am a graduate of the KTEI Indigenous Teachers Education program 2015, with B.A in Indigenous studies from Trent university 1996, and a teaching certification in Montessori AMI. I enjoy being a Helper and ally and working with co-learners of all ages and backgrounds by encouraging them to learn collaboratively, creatively and spiritually from the land and communities."
