About me
Nestled within the pristine Bow Valley Provincial Park, the Canadian Rockies Outdoor Learning Centre strives to lead the country in innovative, experiential education programs that empower youth through connection to their natural and cultural heritage. As a program of Canadian Rockies Public Schools, our goal to assist students to see the world around them with new eyes; to connect with nature and the cultural stories of place and to embrace the values of protected areas. Students participate in a wide variety of outdoor learning programs including science, social studies, math, and art, as well as mountain recreation, citizen science, and leadership development. A wide range of activities from canoeing to hiking to avalanche safety introduces students to the mountain landscape and learning how to take care of themselves and others while in the outdoors. Through multi or single day programs students are challenged physically, socially, and mentally as they connect with the themselves, with each other, and with the land.
